THE IMPACT OF CHILD MARRIAGE
By Heather Barr

Doors open at 6pm - Talks start at 7 pm
one free drink after the Talk

ALL over the world, every year 15 million girls marry as children, before the age of 18. That's one every two seconds. Married children often leave education, and are more likely to live in poverty. Married girls and their babies face health risks, including death, as a result of early pregnancy. Girls who marry early are more likely to be victims of domestic violence. Human Rights Watch has interviewed hundreds of married children around the world, and is fighting to end child marriage - including in countries like the US and the UK.

HEATHER BARR - Senior Researcher HRW - visits Ecce Homo and Antwerp to talk about this problematic issue and invites you to participate in the discussion at Fosbury & Sons.
